Last Newsletter for 2019
Well, another school year is almost over and what a great year it has been. During the 2019 school year, we have accomplished a list of activities and events including; Iron Kidz, Ski Trip, Random acts of kindness week, Swimming, Music lessons, Tennis lessons, visits to the Prawn Park, Rockwall, and Opepe. We have completed courses in, Firewise and Life Education and achieved good progress in all areas of the curriculum. I am extremely proud to be the Principal of such a great bunch of students who keep me on my toes to create a meaningful, motivating and fun place to learn. The staff ( Lorraine and Rose) work so hard during the year and always go beyond there expected duties as staff members to make our learning environment the best it can be. Rose Patterson is leaving us at the end of the year as my Principal release teacher but will still pop out to do the odd bit of relieving. I am not happy about her leaving but understand that situations change. I will miss having her around on Fridays for my collegial support conversations and friendship. Mrs. P’s position will be hard to fill as she is so experienced, capable and responsible The children will miss her creative art, history and te Reo Maori lessons. The Board of Trustees has also worked hard this year. We have completed our strategic planning for 2019 and the school is looking pretty good with a coat of paint. The new outdoor learning environment is due to start in December so will be a great new addition to the school for 2020. I hope you can come to the end of the year B.B.Q and also the Xmas party. The children have worked on a very short play to perform. We will also say goodbye to Bonnar, (who is moving on to Hilltop to join his sister) and Diago, who is off to Tauhara College.
